Ended up writing spies, because it was the first thing that came to mind.
“You slept in a hoodie?” The Lady asked, her expression neutral except for a single, raised brow.
Taz, who had been curled up on the sofa in the breakroom, cracked an eye open before giving a massive yawn. “Mm… sorry ‘bout that, Boss-lady.” He mumbled. “Wha’ time is it?”
“It’s 9 a.m. and it’s tuesday.” The Lady replied. “You’re not supposed to be here, though, as I recall. This is your week off.”
By now, the Tasmanian had slowly sat up, rubbing his eyes to get himself awake. “Right. Right…” He mumbled. “Sorry ‘bout that.”
This made the Lady frown. “What happened?”
Taz glanced up at her, before looking away with a grimace. “Y'know how I got one brother, that decided he wanted t’ be a White spy?”
“Yes, I recall.”
“He used some o’ his resources to track down our mom. He tricked me into meetin’ up with her last night, and we had a really bad fallout. My other sibs are fine, Merry’s taking care o’ them last I checked. But I couldn’t go back home right away, 'cause I didn’t want that woman to find out where we lived…” He shrugged. “I ended up here. Needed a place t’ think. Didn’t mean t’ fall asleep, but…” He shrugged. “Here we are.”
“Where are they now?” The Lady asked calmly. Taz shrugged.
“’S far as I know, back at his place.” He grumbled. “Shoulda checked, but I got really fucking angry.”
The Lady nodded. “Go home, Taz.” She said. “And don’t worry about having stayed here. You’re not the first agent to stay the night here at the Agency. But I want you to do something for me.”
Taz looked up at her. “Yes, ma'am?”
“Talk with our shrink.” She said gently, “even if it’s just one session, I want you use the resources we have. I know some of this has been bothering you, and I don’t want to this to end up interfering with your work.”
“No ma'am.” Taz agreed quietly, “I’ll talk with her.”
“Good.” The Lady said with a nod.
