Blackice week: Day 7: Free for all, whatever you want! Just blackice it up!

Well I couldn’t think of anything artwise, so I decided to go for writing a role-reversal/AU thingie o3o It’s short and there’s not much romantic or anything in it, but I hope you enjoy it either way.

They were as different as their elements made them. Pitch Frost was winter and cold, while Jack the Black was fear and darkness. And yet somehow, there was still something that had the two spirits attracted to one another, making them circle each other in ways that depended on either spirits mood.

Jack on his part could very easily be accused of having mood swings. One moment he could be evilly playful, pulling all sorts of nasty pranks and waking children from their slumber with nightmares of falling or of evil clowns… and the next he could downright cruel, making children scream as they were tormented by nightmares they couldn’t wake up from while under the influence of his black nightmare sand.

Pitch was very much different from that, in a way that could at times be severely infuriating, especially to someone like Jack. Not that the winter spirit really cared, he just found certain things incredibly amusing, including how he could disturb some of Jack’s Hounds and Mares by pelting snowballs at them whenever Pitch was in the neighborhood.

And then, the Man in the Moon decided that Pitch Frost would make the perfect Guardian. Which, Pitch felt, complicated things quite a bit.

In a way, he could understand why Jack was doing this. He himself had gone for 300 years of people not hearing him, or even worse, walking through him. It was a sensation that was colder than his own winter element, and it made Pitch shudder slightly at the thought. He could see where Jack was coming from, he really could.

He just wished that the darker spirit had a different path in order to achieve his goal. But then again, Jack had never been the type to do things the easy way.
